Miniseries and movie

The Avatar miniseries was aired for three years from 2005. to 2008., and it gained tremenduos popularity durin that time. It ran for three seasons and every season got more popular than the previous one until it all escalated into a
movie. The film was originaly named Avatar like the Tv series but was later changed because the producers were worried it will be confused with the Camerons film Avatar. Live action film The Last Airbender came out in 2010. and is the
first of the planned trilogy. Unfortunately critical reception was very negative and it remains to be seen if the other two planed films will be made.

Avatar - Story of Aang

One of the best forged stories which combine martial arts and mythology of the far east. Beautiffuly represented depth of Avatar meaning and its essence. The term Avatar comes from the Hindu religion and represents the incarnation of diety on earth. Meaning that, when a spirit comes down to earth he takes a certain form and that form is his Avatar.

The story takes place in a world inhabited by four Nations and every one of them has a unique ability of bending one of the elements, the Water Tribe, the Earth Kingdom, the Fire Nation, and the Air Nomads. In this story there can be only one in the world who can bend all four elements at the same time and he is known as Avatar. A twelve year old Aang a.k.a.Avatar is the last one of Airbending Nation, people who possess the ability to bend air to their will and in combination with ancient  marshal art technique use it to their advantage in battle. Aang is a succesor to a long line of Avatars and he must leave everything else a side to resume his role as an Avatar, who must defeat the Fire Nation and bring peace to the world. That wasn't easy for him and he tried to escape his destiny by running away which proved to be a good thing because that was when his Nation was decimated and he was the only one to survive.

His friend and rescuer Kattara, is a girl who belongs to a waterbending nation and she becomes as the time passes the Avatars lady love. Her brother is second companion to our hero and he does not have any bending powers but still proves as a worthy warrior and friend to Aang in his quest. And of course, there can't be a hero without a villain. In this case that is Zuko, a prince of Firebending nation. Hot headded young man with a scar across his eye and one and only ambittion on his mind, to destroy Avatar and regain favor of his father.
